The Trinity County Library’s History Collection contains many unique items about local Trinity County history as well as the history and geography of California. Included in this collection is a complete set of microfilm for the Weekly Trinity Journal, the local newspaper that began publishing in 1854, county histories, the Yearbooks of the Trinity County Historical Society as well as resources such as Rita Hanover’s Index to the Trinity Journal, cemetery records, burial permit records and an index of mining patent claims.
The resources in the history collection do not check out. However, you are able to use them in-house when the Library is open. Alternately, you may place a research request by filling out the form below and we will be happy to assist you. Fees for research services are:
- $2.00/named person
- $10.00/hour research fee billable in 1/4 hour increments
- $0.10/page photocopy fee
- $0.50/page for half page microfilm copy
- $1.00/page for full page microfilm copy
